Have you ever tried to look cool in front of someone and failed?

n sixth grade, my best friend Colleen and I desperately wanted to be popular. It was our number one goal. Until then, we were nerdy girls who liked to dance (me- ballet, her- tap), play with Barbies, and make concoctions in the kitchen. Not cool.
In our commitment to "being cool," we updated our physical appearances. For me, this included getting a curly perm and donning “cool" outfits like my pink bow-tie ruffle collar shirt and a pair of "baggies." I was finally climbing the cool girl ranks.
My cool factor evaporated instantly in one moment.
One day, I was sitting at a lab table in Mr. DeWitt's science class when the boys at our table started teasing the girls and snapping bras. Weird, I know. How was this happening in the middle of class? Maybe Mr. DeWitt was busy lighting his Bunsen burner. I don’t know. Anyway, when one of the boys tried to snap my bra, they discovered nothing to snap because I was still wearing a little kid's undershirt.
I was mortified and so embarrassed and definitely not cool.
What about you? Have you ever tried to look cool in front of someone and failed?
