Last weekend, David and I enjoyed hearing the classical duo SoloDuo (Matteo Mela & Lorenzo Micheli) perform at Sundin Music Hall in St. Paul.
They played a stunning program ranging from Scarlatti and Bach to Debussy and Piazzolla. Every single note was beautiful, and they were in complete sync with one another. Right away (within seconds), they were clearly in some flow state. You know that state where you're a conduit to something else greater flowing through you.
It was extraordinary to watch (but also a little nerve-racking).
I can't say I've gotten into an impressive flow state like SoloDuo. Still, I've experienced getting into a flow while I'm playing music, singing, cooking, doing yoga, walking in nature, or even (gasp!) cleaning. Sometimes, even breathing feels like a flow state.
What about you? What gets you into a flow state?
I can enter and sustain flow state when Iām writing and/ or leading a group. š
Great question bc to be in flow state your body, mind, & emotions must act in contented concert.
