What’s a favorite recommendation you have right now? Anything goes!
July 31, 2024 | Sparkle Wednesday
Today's question is a little different. I enjoy talking to so many of you individually and getting your recommendations on everything from a restaurant I haven’t tried to an amazing overlooked album, to a book you've enjoyed or something new at the Farmer's Market.
Let’s share our recommendations on food, music, movies, books, philosophy, poetry, and recipes — you get the idea, WHATEVER goes!
I’ll start.
Pleasant Valley Mushrooms - Specializing in Lion’s Mane, Pink Oyster, Chestnut, farm to table within 12 hours. Available at the Minneapolis Farmer’s Market.
MT. Joy - They’re at Surly Brewing Festival Field next week. Love this band!
The Creative Act, A Way of Being - An inspiring book by Rick Rubin. Everyone is creative!
New Scientist Magazine - Cool science News. Weekly!
WQXR Radio - The United States’s first classical radio station. Great for work!
A Morning Practice - Devoting the time to create a morning practice that nourishes you each and every day.
What about you? What’s a favorite recommendation you have right now?
I feel like I've been recommending the author Haruki Murakami to just about everyone in my life. I haven't read one of his novels that I didn't love! Fantastic storyteller.
This may be my favorite Sparkle Wednesday yet! I love recommendations from passionate people. Here are some of mine:
Non-fiction - The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fu*k by Mark Manson (It really isn’t about not giving a fu*k, but more about discerning what you give a fu*k about)
Fiction: The Frozen River by Ariel Lawhon
Restaurant: Tao Cafe in Minneapolis (my daughter’s recommendation- now, I’m obsessed)
Bookstore: Sweet Reads in Austin, MN
A Must experience: The Memorial to Survivors of Sexual Violence at Boom Island Park
Museum: Mutter Museum in Philadelphia, PA
Art Museum: Asian Art Museum in San Francisco, CA
Cheers to Adventures of every kind! 🥂
