What’s been bringing you a little joy lately (snack, show, walk, etc.)?

With all the chaos in the news lately, I’ve been feeling the need to carve out a little time each day to focus on things I’m grateful for. Today, I’m thankful for the small joys. Join me.

It’s Tuesday night, just after dinner, and I’ve got to say, the standout was the asparagus. We’ve been taking advantage of the fresh, young asparagus lately. Tonight’s prep was delicious. It was roasted until just crisp, then topped with chopped pistachios, a squeeze of lemon, and a mix of mint, basil, parsley, parmesan, and salt and pepper. Yum! Thank you, Melissa Clark for the recipe!
Another thing I’ve been digging is iced coffee with cream and a quick dribble of maple syrup. The maple syrup elevates the coffee to the next level. I know I’m late to the party here. Credit goes to The Kenwood Restaurant for the inspiration.
And here’s a big one—we recently remodeled our third floor. What was once a a pretty trashed storage zone is now an inspiring music studio and my workspace. My desk sits in the alcove facing west, and in the evenings—while I’m writing, practicing, or wrapping up my day—I get a beautiful view of the sunset. Of course, I was admiring it for too long tonight and missed the opportunity to take a photo. Oh well! Trust me, it was exquisite.
One last joy: garage sale season is back! Over the weekend, I snagged 11 vinyl albums and four pieces of sheet music for just $40. Score!
How about you? What’s been bringing you a little joy lately—a snack, a book, a piece of art, a show, a walk, a moment?
A decaf cappuccino from my favorite coffee place 🥰☕️ and the morning sunshine on my face ☀️
Been loving getting back on my bike! Also, I've been getting back into stand up comedy again (watching not doing) and went to Acme last Friday. Love it so much!
