What's something you admire about yourself when you were a teen?

When I was a kid (before high school), I was one of the shyest people in my class.
I had difficulty fitting in. These were the days when you needed to do that, and between the terrible lisp that kept me quiet in elementary school and enjoying geeky things like playing the oboe and ballet in middle school, it was hard feeling confident enough speak. I remember in middle school, part of our grade for Civics class boiled down to sharing and discussing current events, and even though I was aware of what was going on in the world, I wanted to be Jane Pauley; I raised my hand only the two times absolutely necessary for getting a good grade. It was painful.
Fortunately, things changed when I got to high school, and I gained confidence. When I was about sixteen, I remember feeling like I could do ANYTHING. There were no limitations. It was freeing and exciting. I don't think it was arrogance; more likely, it was naivety. Either way, there was something inspiring about that. I still feel that way (to a certain degree, lol), but it's tamped down a bit because, ya know, reality. Maybe I can conjure that feeling back up? I’m going to try!
What about you? What's something you admire about yourself as a teenager?
Something I admire about my self in my teen years was my ability to fit in & make friends in several different groups of kids. It's carried over in my adult life. I think the reason for that was our independence in our family. We didn't have a lot of supervision so we made our own rules. Thank God we usually made good decisions.
Something I admire about myself during the teen years is the dedication I had to justice. It wasn’t always easy to stand for others, be myself, or protest; but I continually did it. The most important thing to me then and now is that all humans feel loved and worthy.
