Shoes, shoes, shoes.
I'm not one of those women with perfectly organized closets full of shoes (Carrie Bradshaw with her Manolo Blahniks comes to mind). I've got more than enough, but not an excessive amount, and unless I'm getting dressed up these days, I'm not wearing high heels.
Recently, I've been hunting for a new pair of sneakers. When did there get to be so many options? Dare I say perhaps even too many? Some of you, like me, may remember when there were just a few. When I was in sixth grade, Nike released their infamous red and white sneaker with the big red swoosh. I wanted a pair so badly. All the cool kids had them. I got a pair of Pony's instead. They weren't cool. At. All.
Later that year, I got a pair of ballet pointe shoes. It was a big deal because I had to show my teacher that I was ready to be "on pointe" plus they were expensive for my parents. I loved those shoes so much. They were light pink satin and the toe box was made of densely packed layers of fabric and cardboard allowing me to balance up on my toes. Loving these shoes further solidified my place with the weird kids.
This got me thinking. Have you ever had a cherished favorite pair of shoes? If so, what were they?
BTW - I ended up with these colorful Brooks. They're funky and have the perfect amount of cushion. Woo-hoo!
This is an easy one. My Kork Ease Buffalo Platform Skyhigh Wedge Sandals I had when I was a junior in high school. I still buy this brand and love them. I also loved my bright yellow patton leather sling back flats that my sister Julie and I got for Easter when we were 8 and 10. The little sisters got white patton leathers. They would get black skuff marks on them which we would rub off with Vaseline.😂 When we were kids we got one pair of “regular shoes” and one pair of gym shoes each school year. I love shoes and now have way too many..
I love my shoes I wore to my college graduation. They are pink mule heels and I feel like Barbie when I wear them!
