Who is someone you have a parasocial relationship with? (Read on for more)

Thanks, Jonathan, for sparking this question!
The term "parasocial" describes a one-sided relationship where someone feels a deep connection to a famous figure or fictional character, even though the relationship isn’t mutual. Most of us have experienced this in some way—whether it’s with a musician, social media influencer, a celebrity, an author, or, like me, a podcaster.
Like many of you, I love listening to podcasts and have a few favorites. One of mine is "Awesome Etiquette," hosted by Lizzie Post and Dan Post Senning, the grandchildren of manners expert Emily Post. Okay, I admit it—it’s pretty darn geeky to listen to a podcast about manners.
Every week, I put it on while changing my sheets and tidying my bedroom—it’s become sort of a ritual. Over the years (yes, it’s been a long time), I’ve learned all about their lives—the books they’re working on (they have a new one about Business Etiquette - can’t wait!), updates on Dan’s kids, their latest sledding party, whether Lizzie has been running lately, and glimpses into their snowy Vermont homes. I feel like I genuinely know them… yet they have no idea I exist. I’ve never even submitted a question!
Side note: As I’m writing this, I’m realizing—maybe it’s time I finally send one in. And maybe I should tell them about my parasocial relationship with them. 😂
What about you? Who is someone you have a parasocial relationship with?
I have a parasocial relationship with my favorite singer, Lizzy McAlpine! She's the same age as me and I've loved her music since 2019. I've watched her get more and more famous and have been following her closely for 6 years so I feel like I know her personally! I also heavily relate to her songs and sometimes feel like she's pulling the lyrics straight from my brain. A good artist will do that to ya!
