You're ordering a pizza. Is it Neapolitan, Sicilian, New York, Chicago, Detroit? What's the sauce like? What toppings are on it? What's your favorite?

I love pizza.
As a kid, I remember only having a couple of pizza options. There was pizza at the Kozy Korner, cut into squares with lots of cheese and grease. (Side note - the Kozy Korner was supposedly haunted by a young boy named Carl - strange.) The other option was the Chef-Boy-Ar-Dee complete pizza kit. It came with a mix to make the dough, sauce, and a little packet of dried parmesan. It was pretty lame even back in the 1970s, but I still enjoyed making and eating the soupy, floppy pieces.
Fast forward a few decades…
So many options now exist - Neapolitan, Sicilian, New York, Detroit, Chicago deep dish, fill in the blank. I haven't even gotten into sauces or toppings yet. The possibilities are endless!
What's your favorite? What type of crust, flat, deep-dish, etc? What's the sauce like? What toppings are on it? What's your favorite go-to spot?
Are you hungry yet?
I loved the pizza in Rome. It’s thin and crispy and doesn’t have too many toppings but what it does have is fresh and delicious. I also have a soft spot for Anglers Haven pizza - Firehouse pizza. It’s spicy and just right crust.
One of my favorite types of pizza is white pizza. I tried this for the first time when visiting northeastern Ohio decades ago. I was hooked. The key is having Hungarian hot peppers, garlic and a mix of white cheeses.
A couple of years ago, I made a large batch of Hungarian peppers using my mother-in-law’s recipe. Now I can almost match this delicious pizza at home.
