What do nails on the chalkboard, Styrofoam rubbing against itself, a piercing alarm clock, and loud crunching or chewing have in common? They're all common cringe-worthy sounds!
I discovered a sound that drives me crazy at church a few years ago. Apparently, it’s become common practice to knit during church. Some people even find it meditative.
For me, it has the opposite effect. We'd be sitting in silence or listening to a calming prayer, and all I could hear was the clicking and clacking of knitting needles. You know that feeling when you start actively listening for the sound? I found it so annoying that I started watching for the knitters just to avoid sitting near them. Yep, that's me up in the balcony.
What about you? Do you have any specific sounds that make you cringe?
Easy one! Trump talking! Hate hearing him.
I absolutely cannot stand the sound of scratching a specific type of print. I believe it’s called lenticular printing? it’s when a picture switches to look like another picture when you change the angle of it. I don’t know what it is, but something about the sound and the feel of it makes my skin crawl and it has since I was a kid!
