Is there something you've always wanted to learn but have not had the chance?

We’ve all heard the phrase, “You can’t teach a dog new tricks.” I went down a little rabbit hole and learned that it first appeared in The boke of hvsbandry by John Fitzherbert.
"The dogge must lerne it, whan he is a whelpe, or els it wyl not be: for it is harde to make an olde dogge to stoupe"
My opinion, are you kidding? That’s ridiculous! Personally, I think it's more likely that people (and dogs) can learn at any age. Instead, this is more about people having limiting beliefs, getting to a point where they're frozen and lacking the openness, desire, or willingness to learn new things.
Why? Maybe it's as simple as worrying that we may look foolish. Whatever the reason, you're never too old to learn new tricks! We can all learn new things, anytime!
For me, this one is easy. I've always wanted to learn how to play the electric guitar, and while I've been playing acoustic guitar for about a year and a half, I've never played electric. Guess what? That's what I’m going to do in 2025! Can I borrow a guitar, David? lol
What say you? Is there something you've always wanted to learn but have not had the chance?
I've always wanted to speak French fluently so this year I'll
This is an easy one. I’ve always wanted to learn to play the violin. I asked a professional violinist some years ago how long it would take me to be reasonably decent-I am a proficient pianist already. She said,”if you are motivated, are already a skilled musician,it would take about 3 years of every day effort, to be able to play fairly well.”I didn’t do it!That was in 2010 that I had that conversation. I guess no time like the present. I don’t buy that you are ever too old to learn-motivation is the key ingredient.
