To be honest, I don't think I've had this birthday yet! I think I'm in the midst of my odyssey years right now. I have friends who are married with newborns and, hey, god bless em', but I'm not there yet. I have no qualms with growing up but I'm also not in any rush. Being 27 feels good and I only have the excuse of my 20s for so long, so I'm going to lean into it!

Great question - I think when we made our cross country move this year and I turned 31, I felt a sense of confidence and responsibility. I’m not sure I’d say I felt the shift into adulthood but the whole experience made me more resilient and independent and I think that’s the beauty of aging. We continue to evolve as life happens around us!

What a great question! Spoiler alert, I absolutely love, love, love birthdays. It was opposite for me though, I was expected to be grown and responsible right from the start, so birthdays were the time I could be carefree and authentic. I found my authentic self in my late 50s and birthdays continue to be fabulous only now they are balanced with the real me.

I think it would be my 25th BD. I was moving across the country from Wisconsin to California. Mom and I drove my little Mazda with the U Haul on top that contained all of my belongings. We unloaded my stuff, I took mom to the airport and that night, as I was arranging my stuff, (in the house I rented with 4 other nurses- all strangers) I thought- I’m really on my own. It was scary, lonely and exciting. I felt like a grown up but still a kid.
