I did a number of things that looking back now, am not proud of but one night when I was 16 I decided to wait until my Mother was asleep & take her car & drive to the town of Peoria, 40 miles away. No reason to go there but wanted to be a dare Devil. So after my Mom took her hearing aids out, my girlfriend & I snuck out the back door & backed the car out of the garage. We drove over the lawn so we didn’t have to back out all the way. We drove to Peoria & drove back to Galesburg & snuck back into the house without her ever knowing that we had just driven 80 miles round trip. Poor Mom, she raised 3 girls all alone. Lots of pranks & crazy antics.

I feel like it’s an obligatory younger sister trait to steal her sister’s clothes, there’s something about them that are just so much better than your own clothes! I was a petite child, and the clothes that I liked didn’t fit me so I took to sewing them to fit me, my “fashion designer” phase. I think you can tell where this is going 🫣

I used to take Sophie’s clothes and hide them (which usually didn’t work well because we shared a bedroom), and once she was gone I would sew her clothes so they’d fit me and not her. Looking back on it now, it sounds genuinely evil. But back then, I thought I was a genius!

hmm. I recall “once”. coming home quite late after being out on a date. I saw mom and dad standing at the living room window and I knew it wasn’t good. I snuck around to the back of the house and came in thru the back door. I could hear them upstairs, “where is she!!” I layed down on the couch in the basement, fake sleeping. One of them eventually came downstairs and said,(in a hushed voice so they didn’t wake me😴😉),”oh look- she’s been sleeping down her all this time..”. Sneaky.
