The New York Times recently launched "The 5-Day Friendship Challenge." No worries if you still need to start; you can begin anytime. Each day includes an easy friendship task.
Plus, there's a “Discover Your Friendship Style” quiz that you can take to find out more about how you tend to connect with others in a social setting. I'm a Firefly, BTW.
Last week, my Lady Gang (envision the Pink Ladies from Grease) talked about whether we're introverts or extroverts and what our favorite type of weekend is (chock-full of plans or nothing on the horizon). In our tiny group, we're a mix, which probably makes us work well together.
A few days later, I had an impromptu happy hour with another friend in my backyard with whatever we had in our fridges. Our conversation was deep and generously sprinkled with humor.
This got me thinking about what I look for in a friendship. For me, I appreciate friends who are open, honest, and laugh easily and often. Bonus - if you love music and like to dance!
What about you? What do you look for in a friendship?
I click the most with people who can laugh easily, be silly, are down to earth, and have a passion for something.. because that is my energy! I’m lucky to have some life long friends from middle school, college, and ones I’ve only recently met who feel like a forever BFF and they all have qualities that I would want for myself. Bonus if they like Harry Potter, food, and the outdoors :)
I have all kind of friends. Life long, new friends, old friends, casual friends, true blue friends, I guess I just love meeting people. My Mom said to me once, no one stays a stranger to u Mary Ann. One big thing, I lost 2 best friends in the last 2 months. Remember to pick up the phone & say hello. U never know.
