Happy Valentine's Day! On this special day, it might be fun to consider the qualities you admire most in others.
We just kicked off performance reviews at ArcStone for the year. It's a lot of extra work but also very rewarding. We start each conversation by reviewing each person's self-assessment and how they grade themselves on our core values: Service, Craftsmanship, Evolution, Harmony, and Happiness.
This conversation usually teases out other values, personal philosophies, etc. In one recent review, we discussed the quest to learn new things and a commitment to growth. I loved hearing this!
I admire a constantly evolving and growing person, regardless of age or situation.
Here are some other contenders:
A generous spirit (with time, energy, and money)
A positive, optimistic attitude
A good sense of humor
The ability to express love and gratitude easily (see #1)
Rock-solid discipline while still being flexible
What about you? What qualities do you admire most in others?
Right now I think kindness is one of the things I value most in my friends & family. The world is very busy & people are busy but it takes very little time to be kind. Make someone’s day with a kind remark or something positive.
I admire patience and empathy in difficult situations. Patience is a growth area for me, so I find it really admirable when someone can address conflicts or issues with a level head and open heart!
