What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? Bonus - What’s your favorite candy?

I'm writing this on Tuesday, 10/31, Halloween. David and I are on vacation in Dublin, taking a little break from sightseeing.
I had no idea that Ireland was the birthplace of Halloween. It began as a pagan festival known as 'Samhain' over 2,000 years ago. Cue the spooky music!
The winter is long and dark in Ireland (not as long and dark as Minnesota), and many subscribed to the belief that on October 31st, the space blurred between the 'real' world and the 'other world.' During this brief period, Aos Si (spirits), banshees, and púkas (ghosts) could slide into our world and cause mischief.
For me, growing up, Halloween wasn't exactly spooky. It revolved around dressing up, being driven into town (there are not many houses to trick or treat at in the country), and “trick or treating” for candy. I wasn't much of a planner, leaving coming up with a costume to the last minute. One perennial costume I'd don was the old "Lady who just woke up." This costume (now quite out of date) was quick to throw together. All you needed were hair rollers, a bathrobe and slippers, and some cold cream for your face.
What about you? What was your favorite Halloween costume as a kid? Bonus - What’s your favorite candy? I’m partial to Snickers. :)
