A daily phone call with my mom during my morning commute. Whether I’m tired, cranky, or talkative, our chats brighten my day every day!
Getting together with my good friend. Lots of laughs and fun. Always something to look forward to.
I live right next to Central Park in NYC and nothing makes me feel better than a walk through the woods or around the reservoir on a clear day :)
One thing that almost always makes my day better is when someone shares music they’re currently listening to and loving with me- especially if it’s something I don’t know. Instant day brightener. Or a phone call with any of my siblings.
There's two things I've been doing lately that seem to, almost instantly, put me in a better mood:
1) Deep Breathing - specifically, taking one big, long breath and then, when I'm fully inhaled, take one more tiny breath at the top. It seems to bring me back to earth.
2) Watch Matty Matheson cooking videos
Having a big ol belly laugh with a good friend or a call with my mom. Both ground me and remind me not to take life so seriously :)
Or if things are really dire, watching an episode of The Great British Baking Show. The wholesome nature of the show mixed with the cute British accents and yummy desserts always put me in a good mood. It also showcases the good in normal everyday people and it’s refreshing to see!
For me it's pretty simple... Just a funny text or meme from one of the kids during the day. A new inside joke with a family member. I love the connections that are made.
