What's something that most people like but you don't understand?

Most of us have experienced this type of scenario.
The whole world is gaga over something, and we just don't get it. No matter how much we try, we don't understand the fascination.
For me, this was apparent when absolutely everyone was going crazy for Barbie, the movie, and no matter where you turned, it was all about Barbie. Those of you who know me know that I loved Barbies as a little kid. I inherited a pretty big collection of dolls from my older sisters and gleefully added to it. Playing with Barbies was one of my favorite activities. I used to bribe my sister, Leslie, to play with me.
The Barbie movie, however, was just a plain old meh for me. America Ferrara's character Gloria's (aka the mom) speech was so heavy-handed I couldn't help but roll my eyes a little. Mind you, I'm a feminist and, of course, believe that women can do ANYTHING they want to and are stretched in many contrary directions. It’s hard.
As a mother of two sons, I see similarities in how we expect men/boys to be, too. They should be strong but not too strong, show chivalry towards a woman but go overboard, and strive to look like Ryan Gosling without spending too much time in front of a mirror at the gym. You get the picture. It’s a minefield out there.
Isn't it more like it's just hard being a human? In Minneapolis, a popular nonprofit uses the tagline, “Adulting is hard.” I propose we update that to “Being human is hard.”
Okay, I’m done with my Barbie rant. What about you? What's something that most people like but you don't understand?
I don’t really like the show Stranger Things. I feel like it’s been so popular for the past 5/6 years and I just don’t get it! I watched the first two seasons when they first came out because my friends told me i’d love the show, but I never got the hype of it. Also I am not a big fan of bones breaking in shows and movies and i’ve heard through the grapevine that there’s lots of that in the later seasons, so I’m gonna skip those, haha!
I wasn’t getting all the hype about Taylor Swift in the past & thought most of her songs were boring & repetitive. But, it’s a big But & I’ve changed my mind. I saw the movie of her Eras Tour & realized what a showman she is. Totally professional, kind, clean, wholesome entertainment for all ages. She’s a Billionaire & got all her $$ from her music. Kids love her & she’s a great role model. I compare her to Whitney Houston with Star Power. Totally changed my mind.
