I’m writing this after taking a scenic drive from Minneapolis to Duluth, to Gooseberry Falls, and finally to Grand Marais. In the approximately four-hour drive (we camped at Gooseberry and stopped at Split Rock Lighthouse State Park - BTW - I don't think I’d ever want to be a lighthouse keeper. Would you?), there are over five beautiful State and National Parks.
We drove along the shores of Lake Superior, with many majestic pines and gorgeous views. The pines transitioned to birch trees and wildflowers as we approached Grand Marais. Stunning!
You may be taking a road trip right now or planning one.
What's the best road trip you've ever taken?
John & I had a wonderful Road trip up through the Eastern Coast States to Niagara Falls where we got engaged. Big surprise & a most Memorable trip.
One road trip that stands out to me was with my Mom. I got my first professional job out of college in Newport Beach, CA. Mom and I drove my little car, with the U Haul box on the top, all the way across the country to my new home. It was exciting and a little scary. I’m experiencing a parallel universe today as we just completed a road trip from Minnesota to Utah where our kids are making their new home. It’s been a memorable trip.
