What's the most memorable weather experience you've ever had?

Greetings from the tundra! We're on Day 5 of a brutal cold snap, and I've got a case of the SHACK NASTIES! (Don't feel too sorry for me; I was in Mexico last week.) Still, I'm used to spending time outside - rain or shine, but lately, even Ziggy’s only up for a shorter walk.
Luckily, we're slowly crawling out of the deep freeze, and next week's 39 degrees will feel like a heat wave.
Growing up at The Ponderosa, winter weather events were a regular occurrence. If it was winter, chances are someone was stuck in the ditch, snowed in, or both! I've had many memorable weather experiences, but one that comes to mind is when I met my brother-in-law, Scott. My sister brought home her boyfriend to meet our family, and they were snowed in with us for about three days.
My other sister somehow made it home safely, driving her tiny, little car. It was a Datsun B210 and looked like a little grain of rice. (This was the same car she paid me a whole, shiny quarter to clean, plus I got to use her Walkman and listen to cassette tapes like Bob Seger and The Silver Bullet Band.) It was the last car to make it down the country road for several days. I remember my Dad and Mom looking relieved as she pulled in our long driveway.
We played games, watched TV (three channels), made food with whatever we had on hand, listened to music, etc. Needless to say, we got to know my sister's new friend really well. Lol.
What about you? What's the most memorable weather experience you've ever had?
My 13th birthday was very memorable for me. It was one of those Januaries where it was simply too cold to go outside. School was closed for 2 or 3 days because of the dangerously cold temps. However, this was incredible news for me! Me and my friends had a sleepover to celebrate my birthday and the next day we all went to see Frozen in theaters because the movie theater was the only place open amidst the freezing temperatures.
I remember driving our little Toyota Tercel from Bloomington, Indiana to New Richmond, Wisconsin. It was a particularly cold snap of -20 and colder. We stopped for gas and didn’t turn off the car, as we were worried about the car not starting. I sat in the back seat with our little infant boy of 6 months old. I remember rolling in around 1 or 2 am. Mom and Dad were so relieved and so were we.
Btw Lisa, I remember bringing Scott to meet our family and getting snowed in. I think he ate every last orange that we had on hand. 😳 Do you remember roasting a big turkey? Fun times. 😘
