I think I would choose the Big Island of Hawaii. There’s tons of diversity in the landscape- an active volcano and a wonderful National Park. And the bluest water. It’s paradise.
Staycation. With that amount of resources I could only afford to build the place I could never afford to go there. My life is not full of vacations so often I stay home on vacations. I would just make my home a recording studio a gymnasium an excellent kitchen a lovely view a patio to be envied and maybe even a theater. Might as well go for the gusto huh?
If I could only pick one spot, I'd like it to be close to both water and mountains to get a good mix of terrain. Though this would be hell to travel to, probably Hawaii. It's never short of activities, outdoor adventure and it has a spirit/energy unlike any other place I've traveled.
I'd go for a place along the coast in Marin County in Northern CA. Ideally I'd have a Redwood grove in my backyard and an awesome beach just down the hill from our panoramic view available from the deck.
I wrestled between choosing somewhere close that I'd go to more often and somewhere far away that would be a big contrast to Minneapolis. So, Grand Marais area or Tuscany? Honestly, my vacation home could be somewhere I haven't even visited yet.

Yes, so beautiful! That's where we took our honeymoon so I have a special fondness for the big Island. Agreed - paradise!

Randy, what a creative response! Your house sounds like it would be amazing!

Yes, LOVE Hawaii, but true it's a pain to get there. What island?
I feel torn on that. I love Kawaii because it's the most natural and unexplored but I think I need more access to people / restaurants so maybe Maui?

Yes, near Stinson where we stayed a few years ago? The thought of driving on the curvy road all the time doesn't thrill me but it sure is gorgeous!
I would commit to vacationing forever in Italy.
When we talked about this at ArcStone, I said Tuscany. Yes, so gorgeous, good food, wine, and culture!
This is such a tough question.

I also like Randy's response too.
Thanks. Just a few of the things I like.
