Thanks an easy one for me. We got engaged on July 4th 1985. Scott tossed my ring in a glass of wine as a surprise. I nearly swallowed it. 😭😂

I haven't heard this story! I do remember mom coming into my room and telling me that you had gotten engaged!

One of my most memorable Fourth of July was probably 20 years ago. We were living in Red Wing,MN and had gotten a new speedboat so we took our 3 youngish kids plus our bonus daughter Chloe, out on the boat on the Mississippi River to watch the fireworks up close and personal. The fireworks were good but there was a huge Mayfly hatch that night. It was like a horror movie getting back off the river. Mayflies don’t hatch in May. No one told me.

We encountered a Mayfly hatch on the North Shore when the boys were really little. I remember the Burley was covered. Gross. We ended up at the Holiday Inn.

haha. They are nasty. They used to plow them off the bridge in Red Wing with the snowplow!

My most memorable fourth of July is from my middle school days, probably around 4th or 5th grade. Me and my friend Payton spent the holiday together setting off the smoke bomb fireworks and the snapper (popper?) things you throw on the ground. We celebrated with hot dogs at a block party with her neighbors and played with sparklers before going to see the fireworks at Gold Medal Park. We ran into an old friend and we all watched the fireworks together. It felt like a quintessential childhood memory for me and it's cool to look back on because Payton and I are still incredibly close <3

Sweet! I remember a couple of 4ths with your family. Once we got soaked at Bush Lake. We were having a picnic and another time we went to the Edina parade. You all were so small and trying to catch all of the candy.

I'm not a huge July 4th fan. I prefer Thanksgiving, New Year's, Christmas...

Four years ago, we were in London for 4th of July and we saw Hamilton there. That was pretty cool!

A close second was the time that we got caught in a traffic jam after the fireworks and little 3-year-old Leo was "dying of thirst" in the car. The mini Kaiser came out. Lol.
