I love hearing about Grandma Cherril <3 I am lucky enough to have a WONDERFUL mama. There are so many things that she has taught me. Here's just a few :)
1) The importance of a good home cooked meal and time spent with family
2) Love of classical music (same, Lisa!). I still remember hearing Classical 99.5FM blasting through the house at 6AM. "Happy, happy feast" was always played Friday mornings and my brother and I would beg mom to turn it down. Now I don't go a day without listening to classical radio :)
3) Be the bigger person, empathize with others and forgive often
4) How to build a beautiful home - through decorating, finding unique vintage pieces, and incorporating fresh flowers. I pull so much of my design inspiration from my mom!
5) The importance of giving back to your community and helping others who are less fortuante
One thing I remember my mom telling me was that ,"sometimes it's just about showing up." I've never forgotten it and consider it wise advice. She taught me to make roast chicken, a fresh green salad with a crusty baguette. My siblings will understand that. I had a best mom and I miss her every day.
